Let the glory of the Lord endure forever; Let the Lord be glad in His works;
He looks at the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in the Lord.
Let sinners be consumed from the earth And let the wicked be no more.
Bless the Lord, O my soul. Praise the Lord!
Psalm 104:31-35

We took the kids to Mount St. Helens on Monday for our time together and never having been there (any of us) it was something new to experience together. The main highway coming off of I-5 to get there had some closure warnings so we had to approach from the south side of the mountain. It was pretty cloudy so we did not get to see all of the mountain but the experience was great for what it was. This Lahar is pretty awesome to look at and imagine the wall of water, mud, magma and other debris cutting through the landscape as it made it's way toward the Columbia River. There is a lot to see around this area and having been a resident in Washington for most of my life I never made my way here to explore.
Any time that I look at creation, I am in awe of what I see and the creator that designed it. Even if it is the scarred landscape around this monument, where 45 years ago one of the most devastating natural disasters to occur in the U.S. took 57 lives and forever changed the landscape around it. There were warnings, signs that it was going to occur, some of those that perished didnt have to, they could have left the area of danger and made it to safety, but chose to gamble ,not truly knowing how bad the eruption and chaos that followed was really going to be.
This tragedy reminded me of something else about God that is extremely important and yet, may be forgotten as we live our day-to-day lives. God surely is a great creator, loving father, merciful, compassionate and full of patience and He makes every provision for his people and those that are lost to come to Him.
But He is also vengeful, full of wrath, holy and just and has appointed a time in the future for judgement to take place, where every knee will bow, one way or the other because He is God and the only pardon that exists is the blood of Jesus Christ, the son of the living God, Prophet, Priest and King who is the way, truth and life and has been given as the only way of salvation to fallen mankind.
God is patient and He does not desire that any will remain in the fallen state that they are but wants all to come to Him and be saved. We do not know the day or the hour but the call has always been, today is the day, now is the hour of your salvation. Don't harden your heart or stiffen your neck, but humbly acknowledge that He is God, and you are not and submit to His will.
If you don't know Him then there is no better time than now to come to know Him, I am always a resource at your service if need be and know that if you are reading this and you haven't put Christ on in baptism or you have fallen away from His way, then reach out to me and let's talk.
Whoever you are, I love you, God loves you and there is a confident expectation for the future, if we trust in Him.
